It is no surprise that we have yet another lesson on the scriptures particularly the Book of Mormon. When it comes to studying the words of President Benson, you'll find that one of his main themes as prophet was the Book of Mormon. In Chapter 9 we discussed how the Book of Mormon was the keystone of our religion- holding everything together and giving us clarity. In Ezra Taft Benson Chapter 10: Flooding the Earth and Our Lives with the Book of Mormon we understand more the greatness of the power that can come into our lives through a study of it and our charge to share it with the world. President Benson stated:
I know some of you are combining this lesson with Chapter 9 and I completely understand why; however, I am grateful to have had 3 lessons to really strengthen my testimony of the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. Each time I have read through this chapter I have felt that power President Benson keeps mentioning. I have seen the power in reading the Book of Mormon regularly but the power in studying it is far greater. President Benson gave several recommendations on how to study the Book of Mormon. He asked us,
The Book of Mormon went through abridgements and we even lost those 116 pages during translation. What we have left is critical for us to know and apply to our lives. After you read each day, try answering the questions President Benson suggested: "Why did the Lord inspire Mormon (or Moroni or Alma) to include that in his record? What lesson can I learn from that to help me live in this day and age?" Sometimes your answers may not be that full of information but those other times, new packets of light will come.
