Living a Joyful Life

Living joyfully is a constant message throughout time. In Ezra Taft Benson Chapter 4: Living Joyfully in Troubled Times, President Benson reminds us that Heavenly Fathers does want us to be happy. He will bless us as we follow His will. We will all still have trials even if we can't see them in others' lives; they do exist. Trials are apart of the plan- opposition in all things. We can try to one up each other with who has it the hardest, use our troubles as an excuse, or we can turn them over to the Lord. Jesus told His followers (Matthew 11:28-30):

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

How incredible is it that the Lord is waiting to help us with our load- no matter how big or little it is? He wants to help us and will if we are willing to let go of them and turn them over to Him.

President Benson goes on to say that God is mindful of His children and we can confidently put our trust in Him. However, we must keep doing our part. We must keep pressing forward with faith. There will be times that we will "simply have to righteously hang on and outlast the devil" but hang on we must. Let our thoughts remain on our end goal; on our Lord and Savior no matter what.

What things help you remain cheerful? Are there any daily things you do that have made a noticeable difference in your life?
