Ministering Ideas You Can Do This June
Ministering is not about checking off an assignment. It’s about seeing people the way the Savior does. Sometimes that means offering help in a hard week, sending a simple text, showing up at the temple together, or quietly helping a family carry a heavy load. Sometimes it means prayerfully asking Heavenly Father who needs extra love right now and then acting on that prompting. Small acts of kindness often open the door for deeper comfort, stronger faith, and reminders that no one is forgotten.
Need a little inspiration to get started? We’ve gathered simple June ministering ideas to help you minister in natural, meaningful ways. You’ll find text prompts, random acts of kindness, plus our free printable Ministering Bingo boards to give you ideas and encouragement all month long.

Simple Texts to Send
Stay connected between visits and phone calls with a simple text. Remember, you can do a group text with your companion too. Here are some text ideas to get you started:
“What’s one thing I can pray for this week?”
“What was your favorite part of Come, Follow Me this week?”
“Just checking in, how’s your summer starting?”
“I saw this scripture and thought of you…”
“Do you have any fun summer plans coming up?”
“Need a porch treat, Sonic run, or just someone to vent to?”
“How can I make this week a little lighter for you?”
“Have you made it to the temple lately? Want company?”
“I’m headed to the store. Can I grab anything for you?”
“Do you need someone to get your mail or water your plants when you are on vacation?”
Send a General Conference quote that reminded you of them
Think end of the school year, beginning of summer, warm weather, and new schedules. What does your ministering sister or family need this time of year?
Random Acts of Kindness
In April 2026, Elder Gary E. Stevenson stated, “I invite you to implement small acts of kindness and care into your ministering, becoming better ministers of Jesus Christ.” Random acts of kindness are such a great way to show you care. Here are a few ideas that work well in June:
Leave sidewalk chalk and a note for their kids (or just a sidewalk chalk message)
Drop off freezer pops or popsicles (we love a homemade ice cream truck- see the photo above)
Bring a small basket of sunscreen and bubbles
Leave flowers from your yard with a simple note
Porch drop a loaf of bread or muffins
Deliver cold fountain drinks on a hot day
Bring watermelon slices ready to serve
Leave a “summer survival kit” filled with snacks, crayons, and some coloring pages (have you seen our free ones?)
Offer to drive kids to a youth activity or camp check-in
Take their garbage cans back up from the curb
Help pull weeds for 10 minutes
Offer to help with family history indexing
Find a hair school nearby and get your hair done together
Set up a swim date
As you look through these June ministering ideas, think less about doing everything and more about doing something. A porch treat, a ride to camp, a shared scripture, or a sincere “How can I pray for you?” can matter more than we realize. When we choose simple kindness and consistent care, we become better ministers of Jesus Christ and often, those small moments are the ones people remember most.
So pick a few to add to your own board and get a Bingo while sharing some love this June.
