Make it a caramel-dipping night to remember! While caramel apples are always a hit, why not elevate the experience with their classier cousin- caramel-dipped pears? With their elegant shape and juicy flavor, pears add a unique twist to this classic treat. Gather your family, friends, or youth group for a "Pear-fectly Fun Caramel Dipping Night!" Below, you'll find free printables to help you host, along with fun gospel message ideas.

Save it for later, pin it now!

Whether you're hosting it for family home evening, a youth activity, or just a cozy get-together, it's the perfect way to enjoy delicious food and create memories. Set up a toppings bar with all your favorite toppings such as crushed nuts, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle, and let everyone create their own masterpiece. It's a fun, interactive, and tasty activity everyone will love! Pssttt… it’s a fun activity for General Conference weekend too!

Su-Pear Gospel Tie-ins

Anytime you gather your family or church class together is a great time for a gospel message. Why not add one here? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Compare the caramel coating to the Holy Ghost. It’s warm and sweet! Plus as we continue to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Spirit sticks with us. You can even go a little further by comparing washing the fruit first to baptism.

  • Studying the New Testament? Compare your treat covered pear to the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). It’s harder to get the core! Print some armor and a matching game to go with it (scroll down a bit).

  • This is a great one to tie in how we are all children of God (i.e. the pears) even if we look different on the outside (all the toppings).

  • Tie in ministering as friends “stick” together and are “sweet.” Plus, you can make extras to share with those you minister to and beyond. Use these adorable printable tags to complete the treat.

  • Be Peculiar! Pears have a unique shape that make them stand out. When we stick to our standards, others may think we are peculiar but God views us as His treasure (Exodus 19:5).

  • We could keep them as just plain pears. They are good that way but when we add some caramel, they are so delicious! Compare that to how Jesus Christ can help us become so much more.

  • Discuss holding on to the rod. When you put a stick into your pear just a little bit and try to dip it, usually it comes out. If you stick it deeper but then wiggle it around, it’ll fall out. BUT if you stick it there nice and tight, it works splendidly. What can this teach us about holding on to the rod or walking the covenant path? Sister Becky Craven’s April 2019 General Conference talk, “Careful versus Casual” goes great with this.

Print Pear Signs

Print out 14 pear labels for your dipping buffet with our free printables. This activity works best when you have lots of room! Spread out the toppings so people can quickly cover their treats. You can use crockpots to help keep your dips warm. We like to use caramel and chocolate for dipping. You’ll want to stick your pears in the fridge in between dipping so each layer sticks well. Add toppings while the outer layer is still warm! You can also drizzle some extra caramel or chocolate on top too.

Don’t stop there! Share your pear-fect treats with your ministering sisters, teachers, and more with these cute free printable tags.

Not sure what toppings to put on your pear creation? We’ve included a recipe list to get your juices flowing. Never made caramel pears or apples before? Check out these tips before starting. Now bring on the delicious fun!
