President Russell M. Nelson declared in the October 2020 General Conference talk “Let God Prevail”

For centuries, prophets have foretold this gathering, and it is happening right now! As an essential prelude to the Second Coming of the Lord, it is the most important work in the world!…

Anytime we do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—to make and keep their covenants with God, we are helping to gather Israel.

Becoming familiar with all the different ways we can be missionaries every single day is one of the best ways you can start being a part of the gathering of Israel. Play pin the tag on the missionary to help your family or church group start talking about what missionary work and gathering of Israel looks like in applicable terms.

Each missionary is 4 page printable. Tape the pieces to together and cut out all the tags. Tape works great for “pinning” them on the missionary. Here are a few basic rules we follow when it comes to pinning games:

  • Blindfold the person up, make sure they have their tag, and spin them at least three times. Face the person the direction they should go.

  • The blindfolded person can put their arms out in front of them to be safe but once you hit the wall where the missionary is, you can’t feel around. You just have to make your best guess and tape it on. This keeps it more fun than competitive.

Consider these extra rules for pinning the tag on the missionary:

  • Each person randomly pick one tag out of a bag. Before they can try to pin it on the missionary, they must give a specific example of how they can do that. This will make them think which they may not like at first but the more you practice thinking of real specific examples, the easier it becomes to think of examples and do it in real life.

  • OR before they draw a tag of the bag, ask them to list one thing they can do to be a missionary then draw and share that idea as well with a specific real to you example.

Don’t have a printer? Inquire about us shipping you a 18x24 or 36x48 print of the missionaries with tags.

Personalize It

  • Trace each person on large paper (butcher paper is great) and make them into the missionary you are pinning the tag on instead!

  • Make your own missionary tags- grab some black construction paper and a white crayon to add your own additional answers.

Need a longer activity?

Play Missionary Tag afterwards! Missionary Tag is a fun variation of the traditional tag game except you play in pairs (or companionships). Even numbers are best for this game but if you have odds just make one a group of three with the middle person rotating to the outside each time a new companionship is formed. Assign everyone a partner. They each stand side by side with their arms linked. Select one pair to be up first- one person as “it” and the other as the person being chased. The person being chased can escape “it” by linking arms with another pair. The person in the pair that isn’t linked to the new person now is the one being chased. Make it more challenging by proclaiming that you have to at least travel one pair away before you can link on to a new companionship.
