Questions to Ponder
Thanks so much to the volunteer who provided these questions. Sign up to help with questions next General Conference!
What does it mean to you to know that blessings will come either in this life or the next?
How are you able to handle and deal with promised blessings that do not come in this life?
How do you handle trials that come your way? How can you help your loved ones or those you minister to through their trials?
How do you feel the Lord’s hand in your life when you are going through trials?
How do you encourage your children to grow in the gospel? What about a child who is constantly resistant to seeking and learning more about the gospel?
Other than reading our scriptures, going to church, attending the temple, and saying our prayers, how can we really be examples to our children and a good influence on them?
What are the ways to be good influences on those around us both in and out of the church?
How can you teach your children and loved ones to know the Lord’s will?
What do you do to have the faith needed to get through trials?
How are the trials we each experience unique to our own mortal journeys?
Discussion Ideas
One of the great things about trials is that when someone does a small and even imperfect act of love towards you, you can see how much it really means. What are some acts of kindness that made difference for you? How can you lift others while you are going through your trials? How can others help you?
Discuss how we need to prepare ourselves now to survive the hard time later with this object lesson using a sponge from Creative Bible Study.
Here’s another fun object lesson with balloons- you may want to practice beforehand!
