Teaching Thoughts
These are a few bonus ideas- keep scrolling for more!
Rachael has an awesome handout with a scripture and Jonah inside the whale (pictured to the right). Check out how to make one on Rachael's Booknook.
Teach your class while they sit in the belly of whale with this fun idea.
This is a super fun game to hand out for this lesson but you should probably wait until the very end of church to hand them out!
Use the paper plane object lesson included in the class packet from the Red Headed Hostess.

Scriptures
Matthew 12:39-40- Jonas was foreshadowing of Jesus' death and resurrection
My Primary 6 Lesson 43 handout packet includes
Whale and Jonah craft. Attach the whale to a clothespin so it looks like the whale is eating Jonah. I recommend printing on blue paper so your class only needs to color Jonah. Buy 100 clothespins now (they make great bag clips too). I got this idea from Chinderzoit.
Tic Tac Toe game boards in two sizes. You can play it as a class or divide into groups so everyone has a chance. I have question cards with answers for each person to ask each other. These questions and answers come from the Enrichment Activity 3.
Activity Ideas
Jonah and the Whale Cutouts- Stick figures to tell the story (whale mouth can open and close) or color these cutouts.
