Finding Your Wings- A Scripture Craft

How heavy is that load on your shoulders? Does it sometimes get heavy enough that you feel like you've shrunk a foot? It's hard to put one foot in front of the other when your whole focus are those burdens. Everyday seems like such a huge chore. We take on the victim role and feel every ounce of the weight.

It's time to lighten your load and find your wings. As you turn your cares, troubles, fears, worries, and daily burdens over to the Lord; He will help you carry them. In fact, your load will feel so much lighter that it may feel like you are flying. How wonderful is it that the Lord is willing to help us? That if we ask, if we do our part; He will hold the rest of our load.

Heather from LDS Youth Leadership is back sharing this amazing scripture in Mosiah 24:14-15,

And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.

If you are new, every Wednesday, different LDS bloggers share their favorite scripture and why via Facebook. In each Faceboook Live video, they will also tell you about the new free printable to go along with their scripture. Be sure to like our Facebook Page so you can find out each week. Sometimes it's a poster to hang in your home, sometimes a coloring page, or even a mini booklet. Be sure to check out some of the other scripture freebies you can use after you grab this one.

Hang this week's favorite scripture poster in your home then make the accompanying scripture craft. To assemble, cut out and color each bird. Then accordion fold a colorful piece of paper. This is the bird's wings. Punch a hole near the circle in the bird body and insert the accordion paper through it. Hang the bird so it's flying near the poster or give it to a friend that needs some encouragement. See an example of a finished bird and how to hang it in this pin.
