Looking for some Christmas gift inspiration? Why not give uplifting gifts inspired by the talks from October 2024 General Conference. We've thoughtfully reviewed the talks and curated top recommendations for meaningful gifts that will not only bring joy but also serve as reminders of the inspired words from the prophets and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Save it for later, pin it now!
10 year journal
Elder Gary E. Stevenson stated in his October 2024 General Conference address, "May I be so bold as to suggest that this year we have commenced a decade that may prove to be as momentous as any that has followed that unparalleled founding decade almost two centuries ago." We will have many opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as grow as disciples of Christ. A 10 year journal is such a great way to record all these marvelous events and see our growth through the years.
The beauty of the 10 year journal lies in its simplicity- you only need a sentence or two each day to capture the most important moments. As time passes, you can reflect on entries from previous years, creating a beautiful snapshot of growth, gratitude, and life’s journey. It's a meaningful way to stay motivated and appreciate the blessings in your life.
Sister Yee’s Painting of Christ
After seeing Sister Kristin M. Yee’s beautiful portrait of Christ, we all want one for ourselves! It’s beautifully done, of course, but now we know the story behind making it even more fantastic. You can print it yourself from the church’s website or get a quality print from Altus Fine Art.
Redeeming Love: A Study Journal on Christ’s Atonement
Accept President Russell M. Nelson’s invitation to study the Atonement of Jesus Christ each week with the help of our study journal. You can print the study resources and journal pages for free at home or buy a printed copy with a year’s worth of pages. It’s like two gifts in one- a place to record your precious insights and a reminder to spend time following the prophet each week.
Children’s Letters to God
Brother Bradley R. Wilcox had us all laughing as he read from a precious book, "Children's Letters to God." It's a little book that would go great in a stocking. Add a blank card and envelope for the receiver to write their own letter to God too.
God’s Favorite
Elder Karl D. Hirst reminded us that John isn’t the only beloved person on this earth. We can each feel like God’s favorite. Embrace the knowledge of knowing you are God’s favorite too with a shirt, hoodie, or even a hat. Now, will you keep it for yourself or give it to someone else?
A Kite
Help your family remember the analogy President Dallin H. Oaks used in his talk, “Following Christ” when you gift them a kite. Add a quote to the card such as, “If we lose our hold on the string, the kite will not rise higher. It will be carried about by these winds and inevitably crash to the earth. That essential string represents the covenants that connect us to God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. As we honor those covenants by keeping Their commandments and following Their plan of redemption, Their promised blessings enable us to soar to celestial heights.” Try one of these simple but better than the cheap traditional plastic kites:
- Delta kite for kids and adults
- Airplane Kite (Elder Uchtdorf would be so proud. LOL)
Slow Down Rubber Ducky
Bishop L. Todd Budge talked about making quiet time to commune with God in his talk, “Seek Him with All Your Heart.” Help your family remember to do just that with our faith rubber duckies. Choose the card that reads, “Don’t duck your blessings! Let this duck be a reminder to slow down and take the time to commune with God.” You can add your own tips of what helps you commune with God on the back of the card.
Sea Salt
Elder José A. Teixeira began his great talk “Bonded to Jesus Christ: Becoming the Salt of the Earth” by explaining how a prized, exceptional salt is mined in Portugal. Grab some Eden Sea Salt to taste for yourself and enhance your dishes. Attach the follow quote to tie it altogether, “Just like the marnotos put forth great effort to ensure they harvest the highest quality of salt, so should we, as the Lord’s covenant people, always do our very best so that our love and example are, as much as possible, a pure reflection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Dad Joke Book
Be like Elder Gerrit W. Gong and enjoy some dad jokes. Stuff dad's stocking with this best-selling joke book then hold a competition between dad and dad AI. Can it generate a worse joke then AI Gong did?
“Joseph Smith the Prophet” by Truman G. Madsen
Elder Kyle S. McKay gave a beautiful talk about Joseph Smith. “Joseph Smith: the Prophet” by Truman G. Madsen would be an excellent addition to any library especially when you consider we'll be studying church history and the Doctrine & Covenants in 2025. It includes many stories to help you get to know the prophet a little better.
A Pocket Full of Personal Revelation Notebook
Sister Tracy Y. Browning provided guidance as we seek for spiritual answers to our questions. A Pocket Full of Personal Revelation notebook is an excellent notebook to write down those questions, the resources you use as you seek for answers, and the inspiration that comes. The affirmations found on the bottom of each page help to encourage you forward in your faith journey. Write on the inside one of the quotes from her talk such as, “Our sincere gospel questions can provide Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with opportunities to help us grow.”
Of course, you could also go the Pluto route instead by gifting this t-shirt or celebrating all nine "planets" with this solar system set.
Scriptures
We were reminded to not underestimate the significance of scriptures especially the Book of Mormon in Elder Quentin L. Cook’s talk, “Sacred Scriptures- the Foundations of Faith.” Any scriptures are always a treasured gift. Try a Book of Mormon Journal edition to encourage study rather than simply reading or get a study guide. We love the institute and seminary manuals from the church- you can access them in your Gospel Library app or order them from Church Distribution.
Sun Magnets
Elder Ronald A. Rasband encouraged us to hold up the light of Christ in his October 2024 General Conference talk. Invite your loved ones to do likewise as you gift them our sun magnet ministering sets. Choose from one of three beautifully designed cards that remind us of God’s light.
Need some faith-filled stocking stuffers too? We’ve gathered an excellent list of those too.
