Game night doesn’t have to come with a big price tag to bring big laughs. Whether you’re gathered around the tree on Christmas Eve, killing time between cinnamon rolls and stockings on Christmas morning, or looking for an easy way to connect as a family year-round, a good game can turn ordinary moments into memories. These picks also make the best family gifts! If you’re shopping for your siblings, in-laws, or friends with kids, a great game under $20 is an easy, thoughtful, and fun way to bless a whole family without spending a fortune.

From classic favorites that never get old to fresh finds you’ve probably never played before, these budget-friendly games deliver plenty of entertainment for the price of a pizza. You’ll find quick-play options for busy nights, laugh-out-loud group games, and even a few wholesome picks that are great for church activities or Sunday afternoons. Wrap one up with a bow, add a few snacks, and you’ve got a family gift that’s ready to play right out of the box. These games make it easy to gather, play, and actually enjoy each other’s company.
- Enjoy the fun of Monopoly but keep it short (15 minutes) with Monopoly Deal. Still enjoy the classic properties but fast pace which means arguing is kept to a minimum.
- If you love card games, why not play with Book of Mormon themed playing cards?
- Have a long drive ahead of you this holiday? Sussed is an excellent addition (or play at home). Ask one of the questions then your family has to guess which answer you chose. Fun way to create some conversations plus there are over 200 questions so you keep playing until that next rest stop.
- Okay, technically, Foldology is a puzzle but you can turn it into a game by racing to see who can finish theirs the fastest- just pick similar difficulties. We bought this years ago. I just pull some out every now and then- Sunday afternoons, pre-dinner holiday activity, etc. They are even great to do as you wait for parents to pick up their kids after a church activity as they can take it home with them.
- If you need easy family fun around Christmas, Not So Secreat Santa is a great card game that includes 75 interactive challenges and mini-games. I'm always looking for games that includes a variety of activities to meet the interests of the whole family and this one looks like it'll fit the bill.
- Have you tried some of the Uno variations out there? They really make things a lot more fun. Whether you want to make it a whole lot harder with Uno No Mercy (which I lose at horribly) or something more cooperative like Uno Teams, Uno is a great choice for family game night.
- Traitor Tots takes the classic game of hot potato and spins it on its head. Are you team fries or team tater tots?
- Learn to play Cover Your Assets in a snap. Grandpa Beck's Games are a brand you can turst to provide family fun games because they are a family owned and operated business. You might also want to check out their other games too like The Bears and the Bees or Gnowing Around- the cards are super cute.
- Set is still one of my all time favorite games. It doesn't take too long, it's good for the brain, and you can play with multiple group sizes.
- Scrabble Slam is a great variation of the classic version. Start with a four letter word then change one letter at a time forming new words. First to run out of cards wins.
- If you enjoyed What Do You Meme (which my kids totally do), then try Quick, Quick, Quick made by the same people. It's a great party game where you need to give answers as fast as you can. Definitely one that will bring laughs and a great one to bring to a youth activity night.
- Triangle Takeover is kind of like the dot game but with triangles, more players, and it's textile. Think you're up for the challenge?
- You may have seen Kollide played on social media. Simple concept but tricky to win! The first to get rid of all their magnets wins, but careful, if they stick together, you have to add them to your pile.
- If you like rummy style games then definitely grab Five Crowns. The fifth suit adds for more fun and challenges. Plus you can play with up to seven people.
- Looking for something with a different strategy? Try Creature Crash. Add characters to the board without toppling them. Sounds easier than it is!
