How to Play the Easter Category Game
This game is inspired by the classic game of Scattergories. Players must come up with answers that fit each category using the letters in the word “RISEN” since we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Only unique answers earn points, so creativity is key and don’t be afraid to use some out-of-the-box thinking.
Instructions:
Print out copies of the Easter Category Game for each player. Typically this played individually but if you have room for groups to quietly talk to each other, you could play in teams as well.
Set a timer for three minutes.
Using the letters R, I, S, E, and N, players must come up with words that fit the given categories. Again, get creative!
After time is up, compare answers. If someone else has the same answer, both players cross it off and no points are given. Unique answers score a point. If you use multiple words with the same correct letter, you can a point for each word using that letter. For example, if you said “ranch roof” for something yellow, you could get two points. HOWEVER, other players are allowed to challenge answers.
The player with the most points at the end wins!
Note:
Adjectives don’t typically count unless it’s part of the official name or you can make a good argument for it.
All answers can be challenged. Out-of-the-box thinking can get you points when you wouldn’t have otherwise but could be voted down as well. For example, for ways to cook an egg you could put “naked egg” meaning a boiled egg without the shell or an egg without seasoning but everyone else may not agree with you.
