It’s easy to miss the teaching opportunities that pop up throughout our day. How can we seize these moments without feeling overwhelmed? What could help us make gospel teaching a natural part of our conversations, so we don't let powerful moments slip by unnoticed? Think back on your week—what truths have you taught, and how did it feel to incorporate those teachings in everyday life?
When striving to follow President Eyring’s counsel, doubts may creep in. What challenges have you faced while trying to teach simply? How and why have you chosen to trust God? Reflect on the tender mercies you’ve seen. How has He strengthened and supported you through your efforts? What has helped you overcome your doubts?

Teaching Ideas
Have you ever found yourself unexpectedly teaching the gospel? As disciples of Jesus Christ, the gospel is woven into our daily lives- it’s who we are. Chances are, you’re teaching your family and friends gospel truths far more often than you think. Teaching the gospel doesn’t always mean giving a long sermon. Sometimes, it’s just a simple sentence. Sometimes, your kids are the teachers instead. One recent conversation in our family sparked a discussion about Elder Ronald A. Rasband’s experience as a youth, and it was a perfect example of how gospel principles naturally come up in everyday moments.
President Eyring reminded us that we often undervalue the power of God’s words and His divine help. He pointed to Alma the Elder as a powerful example of putting our trust in Him and how to “try the virtue of the word of God.” What are some other scripture stories that can help us remember how much God can and wants to help us? What are stories that give us hope when we don’t see the immediate blessings of teaching truths to our children? Consider breaking into groups to find or share scripture stories and what they mean to you.
Brainstorm some teaching methods to incorporate into your gospel study! This list of 75 Creative Ways to Teach Come Follow Me includes ideas that can easily fit into things you're already doing. For example, are you baking this week? That could be turned into a perfect object lesson on following God's commandments and the blessings that come from obedience. The key to using these teaching methods is to keep the simple truths the focus. Don’t let fun overshadow the truth.
Teaching Children?
We decided to focus on activity pages that teach about the doctrine of Christ. You can dive deeper into each of these using the Activity Topic page on the Church’s website.
Review the fourth Article of Faith as you discuss the doctrine of Christ. If you have Primary children, use this page from the March 2015 Friend to help.
You can also color this page and do the maze from the Book of Mormon activity book as you talk about what the doctrine of Christ is.
