Depending on where you live, you’re either soaking up the last weeks of summer or jumping headfirst into back-to-school routines. Either way, it’s a great time to shake up your ministering and try something new. If you’ve been wanting to reach out but aren’t quite sure what to do, these August ministering ideas can help you get unstuck and get started. Choose a simple random act of kindness, make your own Ministering Bingo board, or use our prefilled August board as a reminder to reach out, an excuse to try something new, or simply because adding a little fun to ministering is always a good idea.

Don’t Keep it to yourself, share it

These Bingo boards aren’t meant to be a burden but rather inspiration. Something to help you remember if you are constantly forgetting, a way to encourage you when it’s really hard for you to get out of your shell, or a way to help you think outside of your typical box to reach someone in a new way.

Bring over peaches with a note: “You’re just peachy.”
Share extra tomatoes, zucchini, herbs, or other garden produce.
Leave a sunflower on her doorstep.
Offer to pick up something while you’re already doing back-to-school shopping.
Send a “thinking of you as summer winds down” text.
Invite her over for ice cream and fresh berries.
Drop off a favorite salad dressing with an easy summer salad recipe.
Share a simple no-oven dinner idea for a hot August night.
Bring over muffins or quick bread for an easy back-to-school breakfast.
Give her a package of fun pens for a fresh-start feeling.
Drop off a cute notebook for fall plans, lists, or scripture study.
Send a favorite scripture about courage to someone facing a new school year or season.
Offer to watch younger children while she takes older kids school shopping.
Ask if she needs help with a school pickup or activity carpool.
