One of the neat things you can show as you present the Plan of Salvation to your family, friends, or church class is that it spells LOVE. My favorite way to teach this is to draw the steps on the board in the general design of the word LOVE without being too obvious. Then at the end as you talk about why the Plan is so wonderful, you go back through and outline the process to reveal the word LOVE.
That can be easier said than done though so use this puzzle printable to help instead. Cut the puzzle into as few or as many pieces as you want. Then have your family or class glue it in the outline of the word LOVE as you review each step. Want to learn more about the Plan of Salvation? Gospel Topics is a great place to start.
More fun ways to use the Plan of Love Puzzle
Turn the LOVE puzzle into a file folder game. Place the word LOVE on one side then cut out the letter pieces. Add some velcro and enjoy placing the letters in their correct order.
Write down the questions or cut apart the sections in “Answering Questions about the Plan of Salvation” by Michael R. Morris. Invite each person to spend a few minutes researching the answer then share it with your group. Have you heard your friends ask these questions? How might you share the answers with them?
Discuss how God trusts us to follow His plan of happiness. Use the free handouts in my Primary 3 Lesson 2 handouts to discuss some things we should be doing to return to our Father in Heaven.
Cut up the larger letter pieces included in the printable and write questions or quotes on the back. As people answer or share about their piece, have them add it to the board. You don’t have to go in beginning to end order. Mix it up and keep the hidden word a secret until the end.
One of the things many children struggle with is remembering which order the three degrees of glory go in. Since two of them start with the letter “T” it can get confusing. One trick my children learned (thanks to a great church teacher) is the phrase, “C Tr Tl”- Celestial, Terrestrial, Telestial- or “sea turtle.” Use the coloring page to review these kingdoms of glory with your family or church class.
You can also fill the turtle in with what we know about these kingdoms as you study D&C 76 as well.
