Trek West with this fun Printable Pioneer Game

Follow the pioneers’ trek west with this fun game you can play in the car or at home. Trace the route the early church pioneers took west as you find license plates (or use the alternate play ideas). It’s a great way to add a little fun to your Come Follow Me studies of the Doctrine and Covenants.

The goal is to find all the corresponding state license plates in the order the pioneers traveled west. Some of the main headquarters are marked on the map as well.
There are several ways you can mark off each state:
Spot the license plate as you drive around (especially great for road trips in the United States).
Ask a friend to send you a photo of a license plate you are in need of- only one at a time though!
Count the license plates that you see in shows and movies.
Go online and learn more about that state. Discover the state’s history and fun facts.
Learn more about that state and its current statistics as well as some church history. You can type the state in the search box of ChurchofJesusChrist.org. There is also a fun fact page you can use on the Church’s newsroom site.
Look up the location in the scriptures and read some verses that talk about that location.
Take a virtual tour of any church history sites in that location. You can find out more about booking a virtual tour on each site’s social media channels.
As you find each location, color the state in and/or the corresponding box. When you get to Salt Lake City, Utah, celebrate! Have a pioneer dinner and share some stories, go on a beautiful hike, make a testimony time capsule, cook a fun dessert by campfire, or try some of the activities in my Be like a Pioneer Family Fun Day.
