- The Sabbath is a Day of Worship file folder game is another great activity for this lesson. You could use them at the end of the lesson as a review then send them home with the children. This file folder also comes with bonus coloring pages.
- Teach the finger play about going to church. Interlock your fingers and close your hands so all the fingers are in the middle of your hands. Put the pointer fingers up to look like a chapel and the thumbs are the chapel doors. When you open your hands, wiggle the fingers to be all the people inside. "This is the Church and here is the steeple. Open the doors and see all the people." You can see an example of this rhyme on YouTube.

My Behold Your Little Ones Lesson 8 handout packet includes
- Church Sabbath Day slider- Cut out the church doors to make a slider window or make it so the doors fold open. Tape the strips on the next page together to make one long strip. Slide the strip through the doors so one shows at a time. One square blank is blank to add your own ideas. The children won't be able to read but they will enjoy sliding it back and forth and scribbling all over this.
- If you don't want to do the slider you could cut the strip into squares and have each child pick one out of a bag and talk about it. You could also just color the church building page or glue images on top of it from old Friend magazines.
Remember the Sabbath Day- For each activity a child says is good to do on Sunday, he can put a piece of manna into the basket.
The Lord's Day- A paper folding game (cootie catcher)- You could glue in pictures instead of words- better for older nursery kids.
Lily's Sunday Morning- Find Lily's matching socks so she can go to church
Getting Ready for Church- Find the objects- will have to read out loud or do together
Going to Church- Simple maze
Saturday is a Special Day- Find the missing objects
