What do you think the Shepherds felt? What do you think they did next?
"And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child." -Luke 2:17
or have your family do this puzzle activity to find the answer.
They went and shared their joy with others. Have you ever been so excited or happy that you just had to share it with others? That's how the Shepherds felt and that's how we can feel today too. When we feel the truth of the gospel in our lives and feel Heavenly Father's and Jesus' love for us, we will be filled with so much joy that we will have to share it with others because it is overflowing. What is a time that you have felt that way? How can we feel that way again? What are some ways we can share the love of Christ with others?
In Jesus' day, shepherds loved their sheep and took great care of them. They guarded their sheep day and night and showed them the way to go by leading their flock, not pushing from behind. Jesus is often called the Good Shepherd because he loves us and shows us the way. He goes after those that have gone astray just like the shepherds did with their flocks and He tries to protect us. Jesus wants us to help him watch his flock today. We need to help each other and lead by example. Living a righteous life is a way that we show others how happy we are and help them feel the love of our Savior. In what other ways can you help your friends and family? How can you help a stranger?
As we continue to follow the Savior and come unto Christ, we will be blessed and happy. We will be so happy that it will be easy to share the gospel with those around because we won't be able to stop talking about it. Challenge your family to come unto Christ and feel the joy that the gospel brings then share that joy with others.
At the end pull out a picture that includes this poster but instead of the children there, cut it out and put a picture of your family there. Hang this picture up somewhere in your house where you can see it often and remember.
