What if we spent the time between Christmas and Easter more purposefully celebrating the life of Jesus Christ? If Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and Easter celebrates His atoning sacrifice, death, and resurrection then why not study the life of Jesus Christ in between? With our continued efforts to make Easter more meaningful, we decided to strive to do just that with a Preparing for Easter Bingo sheet. Each square helps us either study the life of Jesus Christ, put into practice one of His teachings, or refocus our Easter efforts.
Save it for later, pin it now
In January 2025, President Dallin H. Oaks shared on social media, “All who worship Jesus Christ honor two celebrations of His earthly ministry, Christmas and Easter. Christmas, which we have just celebrated, honors His birth. The understanding of ‘birth’ is universal. In contrast, the significance of ‘resurrection,’ which Easter marks, is not universally understood.
“The prophets and teachings of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints affirm that Jesus Christ came forth out of the grave and lives today as a resurrected Being. Similarly, because of Christ’s Atonement, all who have ever lived on this earth will also be resurrected, in order to live forever as resurrected beings (see 1 Corinthians 15:22; Alma 40:23).
“As we look to this new year, let us start looking forward to Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ—the most glorious of all messages to mankind.”
