Did you know this about Elder Kearon?

  • He was born on July 18, 1961 in Carlisle, England. However, his father was born in Ireland allowing Elder Kearon to have dual citizenship- British and Irish!

  • Elder Kearon has two middle names. His full name is Patrick Robert David Kearon.

  • He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Christmas Eve 1987 (He was 26).

  • He has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

  • He and his wife ran their own public affairs consulting company.

  • He has also worked in the healthcare, food, transport, and automotive industry.

  • Elder Kearon attended boarding school while his parents lived in Saudi Arabia. He was 10 years old.

  • He met his wife, Jennifer, while she was doing a study abroad in London.

  • Their oldest child, Sean, passed away at only three weeks old from a heart condition.

  • He was previously serving as the senior president of the Presidency of the Seventy.

  • He was first introduced to the church by members of The Church of Jesus Christ but didn’t consider conversion until he ran into missionaries in London two years later. In fact, when he met the missionaries, he told them that while he admired them, do not to try to convert him. Thanks to young and senior missionaries, he later couldn’t deny what he felt.

  • His dad and his sister’s husband passed away in a car accident when Elder Kearon was 19 years old.

  • He is the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints among his siblings and parents.

Did you know the last Englishman to be called as an Apostle was back in 1913 (Elder James E. Talmage)? Elder Kearon is also the first adult convert to be called as an Apostle since 1904 when Elder Charles W. Penrose was called.

P.S. Did you know Elder Kearon’s wife, Jennifer, is the youngest of eight children? She grew up in Saratoga, California. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
